COZAAR® (losartan potassium tablets) is a prescription medicine used to lower high blood pressure (hypertension) either alone or with other blood pressure medicines.
Selected Important Safety Information:
Do not take COZAAR if you are pregnant or plan to become pregnant. COZAAR can harm your unborn baby causing injury and even death. Stop taking COZAAR if you become pregnant and call your doctor right away.
Do not take COZAAR if you are allergic to any of the ingredients in COZAAR. (See Patient Information for a complete list of ingredients.)
Possible serious side effects of COZAAR include injury or death of unborn babies, allergic reaction, low blood pressure hypotension, and a worsening of kidney function in people who already have kidney problems.
The most common side effects of COZAAR in people with high blood pressure are colds (upper respiratory infection), dizziness, stuffy nose, and back pain.
